Job Description

Position Overview: The Technical Sales Support Application Engineer supports their assigned product line(s) by providing technical information regarding product application to customers, customer service, and engineering the departments. This role ensures the meeting of customers application requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.  

Location: Wadesboro, NC 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Address and respond to sales opportunities by providing quotations, and technical information support.
  • Assist channel partners and end users to select the correct product for their application.
  • Communicate and partner daily with internal and external customers via phone and email, to ask clarification questions, provide updates on the status of requests, and ultimately meet customer needs with product solutions.
  • Provide technical support and engineering product information to sales and customer service.
  • Contribute to daily department workflow management and customer responsiveness, through properly logging quotes and managing and prioritizing daily backlog.
  • Assist in managing large opportunities to ensure accurate and timely delivery by collaborating with planning, sales, end users, channel partners, customer service, engineering, and production.
  • Follow up on completed quotes as required, to assist sales in driving revenue and increasing hit rates.
  • Determines pricing for specialized products based on corporate guidelines. 
  • Assist with any/all customer service functions when required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Manage quotation projects across multiple product lines and business units.
  • Work with Electrical and Mechanical engineering department, to help determine the best bid solution.
  • Work closely with customer service when bids are awarded for large specification jobs and help aide in the entry of the project. 
  • Conduct kick-off meetings as needed when project requirements span multiple business units.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:

  • Reasoning abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Self-Starter, ability to function independently without close management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of material handling products and their applications.
  • Proficient in computer related skills such as Microsoft Office
  • Basic mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry.

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience in technical customer service and quotation processing preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Material Handling experience preferred.
