Description

The Senior Plant Accountant serves as site finance lead for the Fort Worth, TX location and supports the VP – Finance on corporate-level financial planning, analysis, and projects. The Plant Accountant provides analysis, reporting and recommendations to optimize company financial performance, while ensuring accurate, timely financial results comply with GAAP, regulatory and stakeholder requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

Fort Worth, TX Operations

· Develops monthly period report and financial analysis for plant operations. Review results with cross-functional operations leadership team to ensure understanding and drive action to meet growth objectives at targeted profit and cash flow. 

· Partners with plant leadership to institute meaningful plant metrics and provide the leadership team tools and recommendations to optimize financial performance and management decision making.

· Ensures accurate inventory unit cost valuation and recording of monthly inventory change. Supports other inventory-related processes (revaluation, slow and obsolete reviews, scrap analysis, write-offs).

· Supports development of plant capital appropriation requests by testing assumptions and validating ROI drivers to confirm investment thesis. Review and approve fixed asset disposal requests.

· Provides financial support and leadership for plant product/process development, cost reduction and asset utilization initiatives.

· Leads annual plant budget process. Collaborates with plant leadership team to develop operating plan for costs, labor, receipts to stock, cost reductions, capital spending and inventory/standard cost planning.

· Partners with NC-based corporate accounting team to ensure Fort Worth financial transactions for accounts payable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and tax are recorded in a timely, accurate manner. 

· Maintains thorough understanding of company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial systems and their integration with other modules. Monitors data integrity to minimize errors.

· Ensures site compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, regulatory, tax and internal control requirements.

Corporate Finance

· Develops and maintains models and analyses for corporate-level financial plans: current year forecast, annual budget and 5-year plan (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow).

· Coordinates company risk management portfolio, planning and administration.

· Assists VP – Finance and Sr Leadership Team on other financial and strategic projects, as requested. 

Requirements

· BS/BA in Accounting or Finance

· 5+ years prior experience in accounting (minimum 3 years in manufacturing cost accounting) 

· Strong business partnership skills (communications, collaboration, trust/credibility/influence building)

· Critical thinker who embraces challenge of solving complex problems with analytical skills

· Willing to gain an understanding for the operations and business beyond analyzing financial data

· Results-oriented self-starter

· Use of Excel to develop financial plans/models/scenarios and perform financial analysis

· Fluent in English both written and verbal required
