R-135120 Industrial Engineer – Charlotte, NC
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Assist in process design, new product integration and material introduction efforts for various Masonite manufacturing environments.
- Continuously support the Residential division’s manufacturing process improvement and profitability by leveraging network supply chain capabilities.
- Become proficient in all Masonite Residential division products and associated processes including, but not limited to, manufacturing, scheduling, and quality control.
- Perform data gathering to create and refine production capacity models assisting in equipment planning, resource planning and value stream design.
- Assist projects centered on productivity improvements.
- Facilitate process improvement projects and participate in strategic initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Acts as a contributor in Process Change Request process, soliciting and analyzing the appropriate data to make informed decisions and recommendations on proposed changes to our products and processes.
- Complete all of Masonite’s Lean and Six Sigma training requirements.
- Create, share, and maintain best practices across Masonite Residential sites.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
- Support production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.
- Develop and control Standard Work Documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Prior course work and project experience, including internships, in engineering or supply chain are preferred, for at least 3-6 months.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required. Product/People flow, inventory handling and replenishment strategies experience desired.
- PC proficiency including MS Office 365. Visio and AutoCAD proficiency a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain detail-oriented focus while balancing several simultaneous duties and initiatives.
- Must be able to independently manage workload.
Certifications/Designations:
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification desired.
