Brand Ambassadors are responsible for the distribution and implementation of all outreach and engagement for University Recreation. Members of this team will prepare and staff promotion tables, update all departmental signage around campus, and act as guest experience experts for our services. This group will also maintain all social media platforms for the department. The Brand Ambassadors should be dedicated to learning all facets of the department and hold an interest in promoting these offerings. This group will also work closely with the Creative Group and the Creative Director (Coordinator for Outreach and Engagement) to plan and execute signature events for the department, such as RecFest, the Gold Rush 5k, and the On the Green Golf Tournament. This group will need to be dynamic, creative, willing to interact with others frequently, and eager to represent the positive and healthy environment the University Recreation promotes for all patrons.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Possess knowledge of/demonstrate an interest in learning about the programmatic areas within University Recreation
• Plan and facilitate promotional tables and events around campus to engage students with our brand
• Facilitate presentations to the University community upon request (academic courses, Residence Halls, Greek Life Organizations, and SOAR sessions, etc.)
• Maintain all social media platforms for the department, including: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Research trends in the industry and present campaign ideas to supervisors in Outreach and Engagement
• Work to survey students in fun, engaging ways so that branding choices are representative of the entire campus.
• Regularly assess engagement strategy effectiveness/brand recognition to determine areas of opportunity
• Research opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships with campus departments to further our brand
• Seek out stories of patrons and student employees for Spotlight Interview series
• Write editorial items for UNC Charlotte publications.
• Promote, and facilitate signature events (RecFest, 5K, Golf Tournament, etc.)
• Assist with any creative design, photography, and videography where needed
• Assist with website design when needed.
