Job Description

Hendrick Motorsports is currently seeking an Accounting intern to work under the direction of the Controller. The successful individual will support the accounting team and accounting functions within the department. This internship opportunity is part-time and will begin in December 2024.  The ideal duration of the internship is 9-12 months.

Essential Functions Statements:

  • Perform internal control procedures that include audits for fixed assets, petty cash, packing slips and inventory cycle counts
  • Provide support for master data clean-up including vendor, customer and product records
  • Assist with preparation for external audits
  • Perform month end Balance Sheet and Income statement reconciliations
  • Perform ERP system testing  
  • Assist in month end consolidation through data formatting and entry
  • Assist in creation of the month end financial statements
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables with back-up coverage as needed  
  • Assist with various projects as assigned

Requirements: 

  • Must be enrolled in a 4-year program pursuing an Accounting, Finance, or related degree
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be at least a sophomore or second year student in the degree program being pursued
  • Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must possess working knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet creation
  • Must possess the ability to self-direct
  • Must possess the ability to work in fast-paced environment, effective time management.
