Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer / Industrial Engineer Interns
Responsibilities:
- Work with management to co-develop and execute a continuous improvement/quality project and give a final report out presentation to senior leadership
- Provide hands-on daily support to manufacturing and quality
- Drive Lean implementation and problem solving
- Collaborate with resources (purchasing, engineering, supply chain, etc.) within the Company to plan, execute and follow up continuous improvement and quality projects
- Inspect production samples using industry appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality
- Confirm that production and assembly lines adhere to quality standards and work procedures
- Review drawings and specifications for comparison to production
- Record inspection results by completed reports, summarizing re-work and scrap
- Train production team on lean manufacturing, quality control measures to improve product excellence
- Propose improvements to the production and assembly processes
- Assist with document control – consolidation of standard operating procedures
- Implement shop floor documents and work instructions
- Perform incoming inspection on raw material
- Conduct layered process audits
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related disciplines
- Knowledge of continuous improvement projects for manufacturing operation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of lean concepts and tools helpful
- Good leadership with business acumen and the ability to lead change
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Team player, results oriented and open minded
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills – attention to detail
- Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
- Knowledge of using measuring devices like gauges, micrometers, calipers helpful
- Blueprint/drawing reading capabilities (Autodesk Inventor) helpful
