Job Description

Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an annual Intern for the Strength and Conditioning Department. This position will report to the Head Strength and Conditioning coach and work under the guidance of the Strength and Conditioning staff.  The ideal candidate would have knowledge of nutrition, exercise techniques, and a strong knowledge of physical training methods to produce maximum performance results.  The candidate would have the ability to manage, motivate, and lead others while working within an extremely fast-paced environment.  The position requires strong communication, flexible work schedule, and an excellent ability to execute and implement. The goal of the annual internship is to gain hands on experience in the strength and conditioning of the motorsports’ realm, including programming, coaching, collaboration with staff, and equipment upkeep.


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting of the strength and conditioning program in various capacities that include daily supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program
  • Set-up and break down daily training
  • Taking athletes through daily protocols, both pre and post prehab work, as well as agility and plyometric work
  • Routine maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the HMS weight room

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Credit hours acquired toward a Bachelor’s degree or recent graduate from an accredited institution in exercise physiology, kinesiology, health and exercise science or related field
  • Must have a great work ethic and optimistic presences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • The applicant should possess a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional a collegiate or professional environment
  • Other preferred qualifications include previous experience or internship in a collegiate setting and knowledge of the racing environment
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications preferred
