Job Description
SUMMARY
Hangs pre-sorted, donated clothing to be placed on the sales floor in a retail outlet and donation processing center by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are listed below in order of importance, from most important to least important.
Places clothing from a pre-sorted bin of textiles on hangers to meet established quotas.
Hangs clothing on racks for transporting to the sales floor, keeping similar types of clothing grouped together and using the correct color rotation system.
Places correct color rotation system on hangers.
Counts pieces of clothing hung and completes daily report reflecting totals.
Places clothing on sales floor racks and pulls clothing from sales floor racks to make space as needed.
Maintains and cleans work area, along with following SOP guidelines for work area.
Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to the Store Manager or other member of management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as back-up to the Donation Processor, Sorter, and Cashier as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by any member of store management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the ability to read and write English. Comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Must effectively communicate basic information in a one-on-one situation with customers, donors and employees using tact, courtesy and cooperativeness.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to do basic addition and subtraction.
REASONING ABILITY
Must understand and or comprehend simple written or oral instructions. Must have the ability to handle problems in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have access to reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly (more than 2/3 of the day) required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder. The employee frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the day) is required to pull; turn and twist body. The employee is occasionally (less than 1/3 of the day) required to talk or hear; walk; push; bend and stoop. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to dust. The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold or heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
