Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Sets up and assists in staining cells and tissues for flow cytometry and confocal imaging under general supervision of the principal investigator and research specialists in the lab.

  • Open to work in an animal research environment, and such as mouse blood and tissue collection/processing and monitoring of mice during procedures, under general supervision of the principal investigator and research specialists in the lab.

  • Troubleshoots and performs routine repair and maintenance of equipment.

  • Maintains records, files and logs of work performed in laboratory notebooks and computer databases.

  • Reviews literature for related research developments and techniques and compiles findings.

  • Records results of studies, compiles and analyzes data and prepares charts and graphs.

  • Demonstrated outstanding working habits, including the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal and communication skills.

  • Experience with flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, histology and processing of human samples preferable.

  • Prior hematology/immunology education or experience or familiarity with immunologic based assays is ideal

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
