The National WIC Association (NWA), is now accepting applications for its Summer 2024 Internship Program. NWA is a high-impact non-profit, member organization that represents more than 2,000 service provider agencies that offer quality nutrition education, breastfeeding support, health care and other social referral services to women and young children in over 10,000 WIC clinics nationwide.  

Center for Innovative Practices in WIC intern Position Summary:

• Research Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) resources for NWA members; 
• Draft EDI content for NWA member communications; 
• Assist with drafting, testing, and implementation of survey instruments; 
• Conduct literature review on WIC related topics.
• Assist with public comment authorship
• Facilitate the creation of new, and updating current, organizational position papers and factsheets

Skills/Experience Required:

• Registered Dietitian candidates strongly preferred
• Ability to work well with a team and with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Willingness and interest in learning about the WIC program
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: nutrition, public health, event planning, data collection, research, communications, public relations
• Interest in Maternal and Child Health and Health Equity.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with an attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs)
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
