You'll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program.

What Does the Internship Program Offer?

Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our UK Qualification and Assessment Technology teams.

You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 3rd and ends Friday, August 9th.

What does the 10 weeks involve?

Interns will develop a broad knowledge of business analysis at Pearson, completing rotational work with several teams focused on different business and technology assessment delivery There will also be an opportunity to work and contribute to solutions management strategic initiatives.

Job Description

The Data Analyst (Intern) will join the Master Data Management department to contribute to Pearson's data transformation. You will be responsible for the functional management of the customer and product dimension at Pearson, onboarding legacy customer and product data into the MDM solution, harmonization of business rules and processes, remediation of data issues, and the establishment of policies and processes in conjunction with the business stewards at Pearson.

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will work closely with the Business Data Stewards and IT teams profiling data sources, identifying quality metrics, guiding root cause analysis, and leading continuous improvement at Pearson.

? Responsibilities

Participate and provide support in ongoing projects discussion in different business domains such as customer, product, etc.

Collaborate with business subject matter experts and data stewards to define data standards, definitions, checklists, guidelines, etc.

Record and interpret data for ongoing enhancement of the data quality attributes, data quality dimensions, data quality metrics and data quality scoring and reporting.

Support work to develop proof of concept data analytic solutions.

Work on technical issues including software system design and maintenance, utilize the network, department specific software, and proprietary software to complete assignments.

Develop and test code from design specifications, implement and support enhancements to software applications.

Assure data and business rule standards are documented via SOPs and adhered across the organization.

Minimum Requirements

We look for Students pursuing a STEM degree (computer science, software engineering, information security, engineering, or technology)

Students should also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal along with an ability to translate business requests into technical asks. Experience in computer software is a bonus.

Critical thinking and flexibility is important, as you will be joining a versatile and agile solutions management team.

Familiarity with some of the following: SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX, Excel, Tableau, Bi-Publisher, MongoDB, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, PHP, HTML etc.

Familiarity with database design and development experience using Db2, SQL Server, or Oracle databases and Structured Query Language (SQL).

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Graduation date of May 2025.

Must be able to work hybrid; in-person/remote at our Durham office for the entire 10-weeks
