POSITION SUMMARY
Support Facilities Maintenance, Process & Technology, and all Production Areas with engineering and project management services for diverse projects with may include, but not limited to: 1) General Facilities Maintenance, 2) New Equipment Installations, 3) Modifications to existing Facilities and Process Equipment, etc., for the purpose(s) of safety improvement, process/production/quality improvement, cost reduction, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned):
Create and maintain all types of project documentation to include but not limited to project scope, budget estimates, project scheduling, equipment specifications, bills of materials, installation schedules, spare parts, new equipment maintenance schedules, etc.
Produce and maintain engineering drawings for projects. To include overall equipment layouts, part details as well as sub-assemblies, schematic diagrams for pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
Work with outside contractors/vendors to source goods and services need to complete various projects. Including general contractors, custom machine designers/fabricators, installers, professional engineering services, etc.
Provide safety/environmental training to contractors. Monitor contractors’ activities on site to ensure compliance with NGK safe work practices, (LOTO policy, Personal Protection Equipment, environmental protection, etc.) as well as satisfactory completion of assigned work.
Liaison between Engineers/Project Managers at ACJ and local vendors/contractors to ensure clear communication of project requirements as well as accurate and timely completion of project deliverables.
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mechanical Engineer has supervisory responsibilities-Contractors only.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or four to five years or more directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as comprehensive financial documents and drawings.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, at all organizational levels including external agencies.
Must exercise good communication skills.
Required Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Other Required Skills
Computer skills such as MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, etc.), AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
Strong knowledge of machine design, fabrication, installation and maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude. Able to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Ability to multitasking in a fast paced environment, frequently adapting to changing priorities.
Work both independently and as a team member to troubleshoot and problem solve a wide variety of mechanical process systems.
Working knowledge of electrical power distribution and control wiring is a plus.
Understanding of Process Logic Control is a plus.

VII. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work in typical office conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
VIII. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/PPE
Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.
PPE is generally not required while performing the duties of this job.
