The University Career Center, the Engage ME! and WE Engage! Diversity Programs in the College of Engineering (COE) invite you to attend our "ENGAGE Co-Op Diversity Networking Night." You will have the opportunity to engage with co-op employers in "speed networking" conversations to learn more about their organizations and potential opportunities.
FRESHMEN WELCOME!
Sophomores and Juniors: You MUST be Co-op eligible to attend this event (Undergraduates, 30 + credit hours earned, 2.5+ GPA).
What is a Co-Op?
The Cooperative Education Program (Co-Op) at UNC Charlotte is defined as "A paid career-related educational work opportunity to help undergraduate students gain supervised experience in a professional setting before graduating." Participating students may work 3 alternating full-time semesters of work with full-time semesters of school, 2 back-to-back full-time semesters of work, or 3 parallel part-time semesters of work with part-time semesters of school: College of Engineering students must commit to 3 co-op work rotations. UNC Charlotte’s Co-op requires students and employers to submit formal evaluations and the semester in which the student returns to campus he/she must do a presentation of their experience to faculty advisers, through a Co-op seminar course. Engineering students may earn 1 complete year towards their professional license after completing three semesters of co-op.
