Join us for a discussion on careers in State government and public service and the many ways that you can use the skills gained in college! We welcome our guest from the State of NC:

Eliza Edwards is a Policy Analyst for the NC Office of Strategic Partnerships (Office of State Budget and Management/Governor’s Office). In this role, she works on initiatives to strengthen partnerships among state government, research institutions, and philanthropy to improve programs and outcomes for North Carolinians. Projects include strengthening the state government talent pipeline; a survey of NC nonprofit organizations and COVID-19 impacts; a reentry landscape scan; and efforts to identify researchers who might be interested in pursuing opportunities for applied research with state agencies.

Eliza is a former member of Governor Cooper’s policy team and before that worked with the World Affairs Council of Oregon, First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, and World Relief Durham. She holds bachelor’s degrees in Peace, War, and Defense and Hispanic Studies from UNC Chapel Hill.

Career Meet Ups are 30-45 minute small group sessions focused on specific topics and led by career coaches or industry professionals. Meet Ups may be virtual or in-person for Fall 2020, and you’ll have the opportunity to gain information, ask questions, and get some practice.
