Responsibilities:

  • Project Evaluation: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and project timelines.
  • Quantity Takeoff: Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for masonry and concrete materials, including bricks, blocks, concrete, rebar, and other related products.
  • Cost Estimation: Calculate material costs, labor costs, equipment expenses, and overheads to prepare comprehensive project estimates.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain quotes with material suppliers, subcontractors, and other service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering techniques while maintaining project requirements and quality standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Communication: Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the estimation process.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a masonry or concrete estimator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to masonry and concrete construction.
